I recently purchased both 'Great Granny Squared' and 'Quilty Fun' by Lori Holt from Bee In My Bonnit. I was completely drawn to the fun, bright and cute designs I've seen on Instagram. It was hard to decide which pattern from both books I wanted to start with, but chose to start with one of her Great Granny Squared table runners.
So, after cutting all of the background fabric pieces I was ready to start. I am not working with a direct plan for each block, I just grab some pieces of fabric that I think will go together, cut what I need and start piecing them together.
For some time I had no idea what I was going to do with all of my fabric scraps that I've accumulated over the past few years, so at least now I will be able to make good use of them. For the time being I have finished 5, 6½ blocks.
...I will share more blocks as I've finished them.

ReplyDeleteI made a great granny table runner last year and want to do something larger one day. Have fun, they are fun, aren't they? :)
I love the turquoise setting. I made mine with navy blue and enjoyed the whole process.
ReplyDeletelove all the colors - I finished a queen size granny top back in about March or April I think it was, I will hand quilt it (I think) as soon as the current quilt comes off the frame. Something about that pattern just said I had to make it.
ReplyDeletethey are all so bright and colourful
