Double Slice Progress

So, a couple of week, or maybe more, I decided to finish my Double Slice Layer Quilt, quilting it with a simple flower meander design.  So far I think it looks really great!

But quilting it, the same design over and over, over such a large space is BORING!!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to free motion quilt, its my most favourite part of making a quilt, I don't know how any of you feel when quilting the same design over an entire quilt, but it really is not exciting!  One plus I can really think of, is that is goes fast.

I really love the texture this design gives, it blends in so well into the background.  I only have the white and outer border to quilt, but have not decided yet what I want to quilt in those spaces yet.

Hopefully I will have a finished quilt to share with all of you soon!

  2. visiting from needle and thread Thursday. I know what you mean about quilting. I tried this pattern last month on a lap quilt. Yours is much more regular and consistent than mine. Fab job

  7. Repetitive motif, that why they invented computer driven quilting ! I'm currently doing a quilt with a lot of vertical straight lines.... so boring. I have a few areas where I will be FMQ. 2 ou 3 straight lines to go and then party in FMQ. Following your post, I don't think I will ever commit to do the same design allover. Did you plan something different for the sashing and the outer border ?

  12. That looks nice...your quilting is very consistent and very well spaced. Yes, I also get bored sometimes, but it beats quilting in the ditch, I reckon.

  13. I love the quilt! I'm not a fan of excessive quilting on anything, and these flower motifs are stunning. It's just enough to give the blanket texture without overpowering the quilt. Great job.

  14. Your quilting is lovely, though I know what you mean about doing the same design, it does get boring, I think it's probably why I prefer to just stipple everything, as I can make it as large as I like and get it over with as quick as possible, as I'm just not that into quilting.
